Terms of Service
Last updated 15 August 2026
These terms cover your use of Kit Ledger, a Shopify app that tracks component inventory. By installing the app you agree to them.
The service
Kit Ledger lets you define a recipe of components for each product variant you sell, deducts those components as orders come in, credits them back on refunds and cancellations, alerts you about low stock and detected drift, and keeps an append-only record of every movement.
Subscription and billing
Kit Ledger costs $24 per month, charged through Shopify on a 30-day cycle, and begins with a 14-day free trial. Because billing runs through Shopify, charges appear on your Shopify invoice and are governed by Shopify’s billing terms. Uninstalling the app cancels the subscription; charges already billed for the current period are not prorated.
Each store gets one free trial. The 14-day trial is granted once per store. Uninstalling and reinstalling does not start a new trial period.
We will give at least 30 days’ notice before increasing the price for an existing subscriber. Notice is posted on this page with a new date and shown inside the app, and sent by email where we hold a contact address for you. Separately, Shopify requires you to approve any new subscription amount before it can be charged, so a price increase cannot take effect without your explicit approval.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for the accuracy of the recipes you enter, and for the Shopify permissions you grant. Kit Ledger adjusts inventory quantities in your Shopify store based on those recipes: a wrong recipe produces wrong counts, and the app will faithfully apply it. Review your recipes before relying on them, and check the ledger when a number surprises you — that is what it is there for.
Accuracy and verification
The app is built so its arithmetic is auditable: every adjustment is a ledger entry, and nightly reconciliation compares what the ledger expects against what Shopify actually holds, raising an alert rather than silently rewriting your stock. It is not a substitute for periodically counting your physical inventory, and we do not warrant that Shopify’s systems, your other apps, or manual edits will never put your counts out of step.
Availability
We aim to keep the app available and to process events promptly, but we do not offer a formal uptime guarantee. Inventory events are queued and retried, so a temporary outage delays processing rather than losing it.
Warranty and liability
The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or lost sales.
Termination
You may stop using Kit Ledger at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate access for non-payment, for use that harms the service or other merchants, or if required by Shopify. Data handling after termination is described in our Privacy Policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Connecticut have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the app, and you consent to venue in those courts.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes are posted here with a new date and shown inside the app, and sent by email where we hold a contact address for you. Continuing to use the app after that constitutes acceptance.
